By way of reminder: last Thursday, Mouvement Ecologique published a Europe-wide analysis by Pesticide Action Network Europe (PAN Europe) on pesticide contamination in apples.

We demand that our European leaders defend the laws that protect people and nature, not bow to polluters and vested interests.

Their message is clear: social progress and sustainability can reinforce one another. Only if we address them together will we develop effective solutions that benefit everyone.

The Mouvement Ecologique supports the positions of Beyond Fossil Fuels and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) regarding the planned revision of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) “Scope 2” guidelines.

Together with 125 other environmental organisations, Mouvement Ecologique supports the appeal by Friends of the Earth Europe to stop the new ‘fossil’ imperialism and show solidarity with the peoples of Venezuela and Greenland.

Much more consistent action by the government is needed to protect the population and nature from pesticides! How many more harmful toxins do we have to consume every day through our food before the government finally takes action? Given this lack of action, how is it even possible to protect your children and yourself from the harmful side effects of pesticides?

Our health is very closely linked to environmental issues. Pesticides and persistent chemicals pollute the environment and pose an acute health risk to humans and nature. Urban warming has been proven to lead to more deaths and health problems. A lack of green spaces in residential areas has a negative impact on (mental) health.

On 17 January, it was that time again: we were back in Berlin for the “We’ve had enough!” demonstration, this time under the slogan “Take a stand! (Wir haben es satt!)“. The demonstration took place for the 16th time during Green Week, one of the largest agricultural fairs in the world.

Mouvement Ecologique and Oekozenter Pafendall have submitted a joint statement on the draft law introducing an investment aid scheme for energy renovation measures in functional buildings to the Minister for Economy and Energy.
