The swift is called ‘Leeëndecker’ in Luxembourgish. It owes this name to its typical breeding behaviour: it seeks out crevices under eaves or between masonry and roof tiles as a breeding place – often high up on buildings.

The General Assembly on 11 July 2025 unanimously adopted the new statutes of the Mouvement Ecologique, with one abstention. Reform had become necessary not least because of the new law “loi du 07.08.2023 sur les associations et les fondations sans but lucratif” (law of 7 August 2023 on non-profit associations and foundations).

Meng Landwirtschaft wants to stimulate public discussion about the future of agriculture in Luxembourg and play an active role in shaping it.
