Google data centre once again in the news – disclose “sustainability check” for companies
The “Google data centre” in Bissen has been quiet for a very long time. However, according to the Minister for Energy and the Economy, Lex Delles, work is being done on the dossier and progress is being made.
Reason enough for the Mouvement Ecologique to ask L. Delles, Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, and S. Wilmes, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, whether there would be any new information on water consumption etc. and what the next steps in the dossier would be. It will be interesting to see!
At the same time, the Mouvement Ecologique again asked to receive the so-called “sustainability check” – “Compatibilitéits-Check” for companies. This had been drawn up under the previous government (but unfortunately never published despite requests). It is said to have set out criteria for new companies wishing to set up in Luxembourg. The aim is to clarify the extent to which new companies comply with environmental criteria in advance of a public discussion and procedure. The Mouvement Ecologique asked for this check again. Here too: affaire à suivre!
