Do you have any school equipment you no longer need?

The SIVEC Resource Centre receives 6,600 tonnes of materials every year. Much of this is still in very good condition, but would normally be incinerated. SIVEC wants to counter this trend by encouraging re-use: every year, around 100 tonnes of materials are “saved” and reintroduced into the cycle.

One particular action is that of school equipment*. Equipment that is still in good condition can be dropped off at the SIVEC. It is then sorted by the Kräizbierg before being refurbished and made available for distribution to classrooms, halfway houses and crèches. The project aims to raise awareness of resource management among children and parents, provide sheltered workshops and boost the re-use of materials.

Do you have school equipment that you no longer need? Or do you work in a school, crèche or halfway house and would like to take part in this project, borrowing school and craft materials and helping to raise awareness? Then please contact this e-mail address: cdr@sivec.lu
