The 16th UN Biodiversity Conference of the Convention on Biological Diversity recently took place in Cali, Colombia. The Mouvement Ecologique had formulated its suggestions in advance and appealed in particular to the Luxembourg government and the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, Serge Wilmes, to take responsibility for the preservation of biodiversity in Luxembourg.

How can the expansion of renewable energies be accelerated? What hurdles are there?  The government has launched a so-called national consultation on this, particularly with regard to photovoltaics and wind power. The aim of this consultation is to collect all the elements that can help to further accelerate the development of these renewable energies.

Recent changes to the structure of electricity prices have caused some confusion. On the one hand, the regulatory institute – the “Institut de Régulation Luxembourgeois (ILR)” – has decided to change the “grid utilisation fee” in such a way that – to put it simply – peak consumption will become more expensive.
