The “STËFTUNG OEKOFONDS” has become the “FONDATION DU MOUVEMENT ÉCOLOGIQUE”

The Oekofonds Foundation (Stëftung Oekofonds) was established more than 40 years ago. Its primary aim is to support projects run by the Mouvement Ecologique. In the past, however, it has also funded projects, particularly those led by young people and by partner organisations from countries in the Global South.

Over time, it has repeatedly become apparent that it is not easy to raise public awareness of a foundation. This is particularly true when one wishes to invest funds not in public awareness campaigns to promote the foundation, but rather in the projects themselves.

To raise the foundation’s profile and make it clearer what the donations are used for, the boards of the ‘Oekofonds’ Foundation and the ‘Mouvement Écologique’ have decided to change the foundation’s name.

The ‘Oekofonds Foundation’ has become the ‘Fondation du Mouvement Écologique’. This now sends a clear and unambiguous message! Please note that, in these times, the Mouvement Écologique is even more reliant on donations to remain a strong and independent voice in our society – which is why it is also important to send a clear message.

All donors have been informed of this change over the last few days. Only the name of the foundation has changed: so if you would like to support us, the foundation’s account numbers with the Post Office and the BCEE remain unchanged – namely:

Only the name has changed. Donations remain tax-deductible, and you will receive a receipt which you can attach to your tax return.
