New agreement with the Mouvement Ecologique and Oekozenter Pafendall: a strengthened partnership for environmental protection and sustainable development (15 April 2026)
The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, the Mouvement Ecologique and the Oekozenter Pafendall ASBL have signed a new cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening their shared commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development and biodiversity.
Based on the values of commitment, independence and citizen participation, the Mouvement écologique is a key player in civil society in Luxembourg. With some 3,000 members, it works closely with Oekozenter Pafendall to promote sustainable development. Its activities cover a wide range of issues, from climate and biodiversity protection to the promotion of attractive communities, sustainable lifestyles, production and consumption, and new visions for tomorrow’s society.
The agreement supports the diverse work of the Mouvement écologique and Oekozenter Pafendall, the implementation of projects in the fields of biodiversity, energy and climate, as well as resource conservation. It also covers strategic and structural initiatives, as well as awareness-raising activities.
This work takes the form, amongst other things, of producing well-founded opinions, running thematic campaigns, developing innovative projects and organising seminars and conferences.
Through this agreement, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity aims to strengthen its collaboration with the Ecological Movement and Oekozenter Pafendall and to support their contributions to public debate and the implementation of concrete actions in favour of a sustainable, inclusive future that respects ecological limits.
