Oekofest 2024 : Guided tours

The number of participants for all these tours is limited. Registration is therefore required: inscription@meco.lu. Of course, you can also participate spontaneously, unless the event is already fully booked. As far as possible, www.meco.lu will indicate if an event is fully booked. 13:3o THE PFAFFENTHAL AND WATER, A LONG SHARED HISTORY

THE AQUATUNNEL TOUR  IS CANCELLED

AND WILL BE REPLACED BY:

However, the Syndicat d’intérêts is proposing an alternative around the theme of water.

The theme includes :
* the Alzette
* the dam near the mill
* the fish ladder
* the mill
* trades linked to water: fishermen, dyers, tanners, water carriers, laundresses, market gardeners, brewers, lifeguards, etc.
* the place of the Spidol with the water carrier
* the slide for lowering the barrels
* the washing/pedalling fountain
* the ‘theiwesbuer’ for drinking water
* the water station near the Béinchen (steam engine, ‘Féngerléck’, pump)
1) for waste water from the Aquatunnel
2) for the aqueduct
* Flower procession on the Alzette.

 

The tour is led by the „Interesseveräin Pafendall-Sichenhaff a.s.b.l.“

 

Duration: 90 minutes, accessible with pushchairs. Warm clothing and a torch are recommended. Easily accessible.

You will also get to know interesting corners of the Pafendall that you are less likely to discover as a normal walker. The Muerbelsmillen, the ‘delousing station’, find out how the name ‘Spidolsgaart’ came about, discover where Goethe rested in the Pfaffenthal in 1792 and where the Féngerléck, the Kneipp baths and the smallest cinema in Luxembourg are located.
