Oekofest 2024 in pictures – more than just a success
At this year’s Oekofest, everything was just right:
the weather was great and really invited you to spend a day outdoors.
The festival was opened with a political speech by the president of the Mouvement Ecologique, Blanche Weber, which was very well received. Among other things, it was about the orientation of the Luxembourg government in matters of sustainable development, but also about the role of non-governmental organisations.
The decision to spread the festival across several squares in Pfaffenthal was absolutely the right one: the atmosphere at the Oekozenter Pafendall, in the small streets with stalls, and on the larger square of Spidolsgaart was excellent. The fact that associations and restaurants/cafes from Pfaffenthal took part in the Oekofest also gave the day an additional positive flair.
The wide variety of stands, with information and attractive products, ensured that there was something to be found at every corner.
Families praised the wide range of activities for children – from games to face painting.
As always, Georges Christen also delighted people.
The good musical programme, the exploratory rally, the well-attended tours, the lectures… all these activities rounded off the programme and ensured that there was always ‘something going on’.
The food and drink from Oekosoph and other providers, including from Pfaffenthal, was very appealing, so that from 2:30 p.m. onwards, some stands had very few portions left.
But of course the festival was also a forum where friends and colleagues could meet, see each other again, discuss, laugh together and exchange ideas.
A big thank you to everyone who made the Oekofest possible and to all the visitors. Even though a detailed evaluation is still pending, we are looking forward to 2025.
All the activities were free of charge, but of course such a festival costs a lot of money. If you would like to support the organisation of the festival financially, that would be helpful. Donations to the Oekofonds Foundation are tax deductible.
